  1. A picture is worth a thousand words. And I am sure a picture of certain commissioners’ bank accounts with speak thousands upon thousands too.

Cars off the beach… How’s that working for you Daytona? Just look at all that prosperity!

PS: I know, I know, blame the hurricane.

  2. I lived on a small island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. (It is the missile range that tracked our Minuteman missiles that you’ve recently been hearing about re North Korea.) There were no personal cars and everyone rode bicycles everywhere. When you live on a missile range, you live among lots of STEM PhDs. We had no TV or radio so those brilliant minds spent a lot of off-time trying to keep their bicycles from rusting out. (Many employee contracts were for 2 yrs but the bikes would literally collapse after only 18 months.) I never saw a bike that lasted longer.
My point is that those boardwalk rides are NOT going to last beyond 18 months.

    1. That’s not entirely true, Pam . I went to the New Jersey shore (Wildwood, Seaside Heights, Point Pleasant Beach) for over 50 years and never saw the amusements in the state of disrepair as in Daytona.
